Mahnaz Jan Ali has joined Bennett Jones as a partner in the firm's Montreal office. Her experience includes acting for banks, borrowers and financial institutions in sophisticated secured and unsecured lending transactions.

Clark Wilson LLP

The firm has welcomed Matthew Ostrow as a partner in its family law group. Ostrow has over 13 years of experience in family law. His legal services include divorce, spousal support, mediation, parenting and marriage agreements, appellate practice, and collaborative family law.

Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP

The firm has welcomed Konstantine Ketsetzis to its Hamilton office as a partner in its corporate practice group. Ketsetzis practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes and commercial contracts. He is experienced in helping businesses streamline and de-risk the opportunities critical to their success.

Jennifer Brevorka has recently joined Hodgson Russ. Her practice focuses on advising Canadian businesses and executives embroiled in US litigation, prosecution, or regulatory proceedings. Brevorka specializes in defending executives or companies accused of white-collar crimes, corporate misconduct, regulatory breaches, or malfeasance by shareholders or employees. Her cross-border experience includes mandates such as enforcing foreign court orders and judgments, corporate investigations, and charge or sentence negotiations with US prosecutors.

Lavery has welcomed Marc Ouellet as a partner to its labour and employment law group. He has over twenty years of experience in all aspects of labour and employment law, including labour standards, human rights, duty of loyalty, and restrictive employment clauses.

WeirFoulds LLP

The firm has welcomed Zohaib Ahmed and Denna Jalili as associates in its commercial litigation practice group. Ahmed’s practice covers business litigation, shareholder remedies, professional liability, employment disputes, real estate litigation, construction, and defamation.

Jalili has experience advancing and defending actions encompassing various matters, including contract disputes, priority contests under federal insolvency regimes, consumer protection and product liability issues, securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and claims made under the Wishart Act. Before joining WeirFoulds, Jalili was a class action and commercial litigation associate at a boutique firm in Toronto.
