Four law firms made new announcements
Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
BLG has welcomed international trade lawyer Rambod Behboodi as senior counsel in the firm’s corporate and capital markets group. Behboodi has been advising on complex trade-related issues for over 30 years at the Canadian government, within the World Trade Organization (WTO), and as a partner in the international trade law group at a major global law firm in Geneva. He is experienced in international trade law as a legal and policy advisor, litigator, public advocate, and diplomat. He also has experience in financial sector regulation and international relations.
Behboodi was also the Canadian Competition Bureau’s first Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Promotion Branch, where he was responsible for economic advocacy, international negotiations, strategic planning and communications.
“Rambod is well known in Canada and globally as being a top advisor on complex trade-related issues,” said Prema Thiele, national group head, corporate and capital markets. “Our clients will greatly benefit from the experience and advice of one of Canada’s most knowledgeable and well thought of international trade lawyers.”
