Four law firms made new announcements
Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
The firm has welcomed associate Alexa Benzinger to its family law group. Her practice includes cohabitation agreements, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, marriage agreements, separation agreements, divorce, property division, spousal support, child support, custody and guardianship, and parenting arrangements.
The firm has also announced the promotion of Emily Davies from articled student to associate within the firm’s estates and trusts group. Her practice encompasses capacity and undue influence claims, executor and trustee compensation, breach of fiduciary duty claims, passing of executor and trustee accounts, wills variation claims, applications to have a document declared a will, committeeship applications, and unjust enrichment claims.
Dentons has welcomed Manveer Bisla as a partner in the firm’s corporate and venture technology and emerging growth companies groups. With over a decade of private practice experience, Manveer brings extensive corporate and securities law expertise, particularly in corporate finance, corporate governance, board and shareholder matters, equity compensation plans, share reorganizations and restructuring.

Dan Patriarca has joined the firm as an associate specializing in intellectual property and corporate commercial.
WeirFoulds has welcomed Megan Mossip as a partner in the firm’s corporate and commercial practice group. Mossip’s practice focuses on complex business transactions, encompassing mergers and acquisitions, secured financing transactions, venture capital investments and other corporate commercial matters.
Associates Hayden Tbizan and Narmada Gunawardana have also joined the firm. Tbizan has represented clients in various matters, including breach of contract claims, lien actions, commercial leasing, contested transactions, shareholder remedies, and professional negligence. Meanwhile, Gunawardana has previously worked at a Toronto-based law firm focused on land development advocacy and associated litigation.
