Global Best in Law 2024 recognizes excellence in the legal industry

Key Media’s Global Best in Law 2024 recognizes this year’s top legal award winners across the special reports featured in Canadian Lawyer, Australian Lawyer, and NZ Lawyer.

In 2024, law firms and lawyers faced a mix of sector-specific and broader challenges. A key issue was the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and the need to harness its potential within legal practices. Simultaneously, growing demand across major practice areas created both opportunities and pressures. Firms also contend with rising operational costs, the increasing importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities, and the ongoing challenge of integrating software and systems to drive efficiency while fostering a positive remote work culture.

Each year, Key Media’s research team surveys thousands of professionals in the legal industry and conducts follow-up interviews to identify the top candidates for recognition. A judging panel then evaluates the finalists to determine the award winners. In 2024, Key Media distributed 212 surveys globally and produced 176 special reports.

The firms featured in this year’s reports are celebrated for overcoming significant challenges, including economic pressures, increasing cyberattacks, evolving legislation and compliance requirements, and the complexities of a remote work environment. Despite these hurdles, they continued to excel and thrive.

Gluckstein Lawyers, one of the law firms honoured this year, has embraced new technologies to help the firm communicate with its clients more efficiently. “Clients should be treated like family and given the same courtesy and care even when their case ends,” said Charles Gluckstein, owner and managing partner.

Echoing this client-centred approach, Rose Leto of Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers, another Canadian firm recognized for its achievements, added, “If we can have a positive interaction with our clients and leave them better than how we found them, and have a positive impact on their life, there’s nothing more important than that.”

This year’s award categories included 5-Star Employers of Choice, 5-Star Pro Bono Firms, Dealmakers of the Year, Elite Women, Fast Firms, Law Firms of the Year, Most Influential Lawyers, Readers’ Choice, Rising Stars, Service Provider Awards, Top Boutique Firms, and Top Regional Firms.
