Lexpert's top deals of 2024 celebrate exceptional transactions and teams
The Awards of Excellence for the Canadian Law Awards’ deal categories – which celebrate the landmark transactions of 2024 and the executives, lawyers, and bankers who helped shape them – are now live.
Deals are evaluated according to their size, complexity, breadth, and innovation. This year’s finalists are up for awards recognizing outstanding capital markets, infrastructure and projects, insolvency and restructuring, M&A, and mid-market deals.
Last year, Chad Schneider, a partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP who was part of the team that took home the 2024 Capital Markets Deal of the Year, described the Canadian Law Awards as an “always fantastic” time to reunite with colleagues. “It’s always a fun night,” he said.

Lexpert and Canadian Lawyer’s annual celebration of excellence in the legal profession will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 7th. The event will include a cocktail reception, an awards ceremony, and a dinner banquet.
Post-ceremony, attendees are invited to continue the festivities at a post-awards celebration.
In March, Lexpert and Canadian Lawyer unveiled another slate of finalists called Excellence Awardees – a shortlist of outstanding individuals, organizations, and accomplishments selected by the Canadian Law Awards team.
A panel of judges will review and score the awardees to select winners across 23 categories. Those winners and winners in each deal category will be announced at the Canadian Law Awards.
