Former Google chief privacy officer Keith Enright joins Gibson Dunn

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP has announced the addition of Keith Enright, the former vice president and chief privacy officer of Google LLC, as a partner in its Palo Alto office.

Enright will serve as co-chair of both the firm’s artificial intelligence practice group and tech and innovation industry group, where he will focus on AI, data privacy, and managing technology risks and strategies for clients

“Keith is a recognized global leader on privacy, AI, and data innovation, with experience navigating countless front-page legal and regulatory issues and investigations,” said Ashlie Beringer, co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s tech and innovation industry group. “Keith’s technical depth and strategic insights will strongly benefit our rapidly expanding technology, artificial intelligence, privacy, and cybersecurity platform.”

Gibson Dunn’s team of former senior executives from leading tech companies includes former Apple Inc. chief privacy officer Jane Horvath and senior attorney Vivek Mohan, who joined the firm's DC and Palo Alto offices respectively, and Ashlie Beringer, who rejoined from Meta (formerly Facebook) in 2021.

With over two decades of experience, Enright’s career has spanned global legal leadership roles, particularly in AI governance, data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. As Google’s chief privacy officer, he led the company's global privacy functions, managing teams across the US, Europe, and Asia. He also serves on the board of several organizations, including the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the IAPP AI Governance Center Advisory Board.
