Nominations are open until 11:59pm EST on January 31, 2025
Nominations are open for the sixth Canadian Law Awards, the much-anticipated annual celebration of the most outstanding organizations, achievements, and individuals in Canada’s legal industry.
Lexpert and Canadian Lawyer are accepting nominations across 23 categories until 11:59 pm EST on January 31, 2025.
Winners will be recognized at the Canadian Law Awards, which will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 7, 2025.
"Being recognized by the Canadian Law Awards is an honour," said a spokesperson for Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, whose work was recognized across multiple categories last year. "These awards celebrate the collaboration and dedication between our lawyers and clients and we value this acknowledgment from the legal community.
"Recognition like this reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional results," the spokesperson added.
Each year, the Canadian Law Awards honour exceptional individuals, law firms and in-house departments, deals, cases, and initiatives. Winners are selected in a multi-stage process, with a shortlist of Excellence Awardees to be announced in March and a shortlist of notable deals to be announced in April.
An independent panel of judges will then review the Excellence Awardees, scoring each according to applicable criteria and tallying their scores to produce a winner for each category.
To be considered, nominations must be submitted through the law awards website's nomination page. Each submission should be concise and directly address the criteria for the applicable category.
