Seven firms made new announcements
Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
Aird & Berlis has announced the appointment of Dillon Collett, Sean Green, Cathy Jares, Naomi Mares, Felix Ng, Alexandra Raponi and Josh Suttner as partners.
The firm has welcomed seven new partners:
Cozen O’Connor has announced that Enzo Sallese, Steven I. Pearlstein, and Andrea Wong will join the firm’s North American real estate practice. They are the firm’s first real estate lawyers to be based in Canada. Together, the three lawyers bring some 75 years of corporate-level real estate experience, advising and representing commercial and industrial real estate clients in a range of major transactions, including asset acquisition, disposition and financing, commercial and residential real estate development, commercial leasing, loan restructurings, mortgage enforcement and administration, and secured transactions.
Nikolas Blanchette has joined the firm's Montreal office as a partner and head of the real estate group. He is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience with expropriation, development and infrastructure, municipal taxation, environmental regulations, commercial leasing, regulatory and administrative issues, and municipal law.
The firm has also announced the appointment of Daniel Shapira as co-chair of the firm’s Canadian real estate service group. Shapira has considerable experience advising clients in real estate matters covering property development, sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial leasing and financing transactions, including land development and construction loans, acquisition facilities and operating facilities.
The firm has welcomed Kristina Davies as associate counsel with the firm’s commercial litigation group. She has over a decade of experience representing clients in complex litigation, including real estate and commercial leasing, shareholder, partnership, and general commercial disputes.
Lerners has announced that Nadia Jandali Chao has joined the firm’s Toronto office as a partner. Chao brings almost two decades of experience to the firm’s business law and specialty risk and insurance groups. In her new role, she will advise clients on data protection and privacy, risk management, and corporate governance matters.
The partners of SV Law have welcomed Robert Graham to the partnership. Graham’s practice includes business law, farm law, real estate law, and wills and estates. He has a focused corporate and commercial law practice emphasizing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, and business succession planning. He also represents commercial and residential property owners in various real estate transactions and advises on estate planning and administration matters. Graham joined SV Law on May 11, 2022. Before joining SV Law, he worked at a national firm.
