Aird & Berlis LLP

The Toronto-based firm has five new partners:

  • Aaron Baer – corporate and commercial
  • Brian Chung – litigation
  • Jeremy Nemers – financial services
  • Jesse Rosensweet – corporate and commercial
  • Graham Topa – capital markets and venture finance

Bennett Jones LLP

The firm has two new partners:

  • Charlene Hiller (Vancouver) – construction and infrastructure and project development
  • David Little (Vancouver) – construction and infrastructure and project development

Hugh MacKinnon, the firm’s chairman and chief executive officer, said that Hiller and Little have assisted clients with complex capital projects. “They have a demonstrated track record of anticipating and adapting project delivery to changing markets and providing strategic and business-focused advice to clients,” MacKinnon added.

The firm has 10 new partners:

Brock Gibson, who chairs the firm, said that these new partners have more to contribute than just their knowledge and experience. These lawyers also offer “their unique perspectives and the relationships they’ve built with the business community.”

The Vancouver-based firm has five new partners:

  • Gordon Behan – estates and trusts
  • Katie Mak – banking, insolvency and restructuring; business litigation; fraud and asset recovery
  • Athar Malik – intellectual property, information technology, higher learning
  • Karen Ngan – commercial real estate, private company mergers and acquisitions, general business law
  • Avery Saunders – private company mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, general business law

Fillmore Riley LLP

The Winnipeg-based firm has three new partners:

  • Brandon Barnes Trickett – commercial litigation
  • Celia Fergusson – employment and labour law and insurance litigation
  • Matthew Underwood – banking and financial law, business law, real estate

Stewart McKelvey

The firm has one new partner, Jason Woycheshyn, who will be based in Halifax. He focuses his practice on the areas of litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution.
