Always focusing on innovation, DivorceMate recently launched its newest Cloud platform that was two years in the making — and it’s a winning combination of the most popular features of legacy DM Cloud and Desktop versions.

A gamechanger for family law professionals

Designed by incorporating member feedback with the latest technology, the new DM Cloud* platform allows full Microsoft Word integration, while also taking advantage of all of the benefits of the cloud.

With no complicated network setups, software that’s always current, automatic backup and storage of matters, and superior security, the new DM Cloud is a gamechanger for family law professionals.

From spousal calculations and agreements to court forms, the new DivorceMate Cloud platform caters to an efficient user experience. A straightforward and quick set up that includes a smooth transition of client matters from legacy DM Cloud or Desktop software, there’s virtually no learning curve. Retaining some of the look and function of the legacy versions, without any training users can log in and get down to business.

Secure and efficient, the new platform can be used anytime, anywhere, on any device, and there is no need for users to purchase extra licenses for secondary computers as licensing is now based on number of users, not number of devices.

The power of Word

The long-awaited ability to create forms and agreements in Microsoft Word in a cloud-based platform means that users now have significantly more control over the documents with full formatting and editing capabilities.

Forms

When creating forms, the new software does away with the DivorceMate ribbon, providing instead an easy-to-use add-in side panel. The panel is a powerful addition: it calculates the math in financial forms, configures forms by checking the applicable schedules or optional parts to be included, refreshes a form when the client’s matter details change, and can add or subtract rows in financial forms which preserves the mathematical functionality of the row.

There’s also the ability to merge repetitive information, with common data from the matter details section like names, dates, and contact information automatically entered, and access to DivorceMate’s robust centralized databases means a few clicks will merge information for other lawyers in the matter or appropriate court information automatically. The forms, which are regularly updated to reflect any legislative or rule changes, can also easily be shared with clients or other parties to a matter.

Agreements

DivorceMate agreements in the new Cloud platform presents users with a streamlined checkbox selection process, which makes drafting domestic contracts a snap. The add-in side panel helps build the agreement directly in Word through the selection of clauses, organized by topic or accessed through the Search feature, and which can be reviewed before inclusion. The list is comprehensive, with hundreds of clauses covering basic situations to the most complex, and each clause is accompanied by extensive commentary on relevant legal issues or other pertinent information associated with it.

Again, the list of clauses is kept current with continuous updates keeping pace with caselaw and any legislative changes.

Last but not least: The Calculator

No DivorceMate platform would be complete without its flagship feature: the Calculator.

Trusted and relied upon by judges and lawyers in the family law space for over three decades, users can accurately calculate things like child and spousal support, net disposable incomes, section 7 expense apportioning, grossing up of non-taxable income, restructuring under SSAG, and life insurance needs, to name just a few.

Move into the future today

Upgrading to the new DivorceMate Cloud is simple and seamless. While users of the Legacy DM Cloud will see client matters and documents automatically moved over, those working on the desktop version have full control over the pace of the transition and can choose to leave old client matters in the legacy software or move them to the new platform. In both cases, legacy documents can continue to be accessed and modified in the new platform and are easily identifiable with colour-coded symbols in the document list.

It couldn’t be easier to leverage this innovative new platform, elevating your work and capitalizing on the efficiency it offers. Welcome to the future of DivorceMate: it’s everything you’ve been waiting for.

*The new DM Cloud is only available currently in ON and BC, and coming soon to AB.
