Aird & Berlis appears in six commercial list suits this past week

The week’s most notable commercial suit was the $550-million case Kosmayer Investment Inc. v Rumble Inc. et al. Goodmans LLP partner Michael Wilson advised plaintiff Kosmayer Investment Inc. He deals with matters involving corporate governance, shareholder disputes, and commercial issues. Rumble Inc. and one other defendant appeared to be unrepresented.
The next most notable commercial suit was the $114-million case Voortman Cookies Limited (F/K/A 2727939 Ontario Inc.) v SPC Partners V, LP et al. Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP partner Andrew Carlson acted for plaintiff Voortman Cookies Limited. He handles complex cases involving allegations of contractual breach, oppression, and insider trading. SPC Partners V, LP and five other defendants appeared to be unrepresented.
