White & Case welcomes Ryan Tou as a partner in Hong Kong

White & Case LLP has expanded its global capital markets practice with the addition of Ryan Tou as a partner in Hong Kong.

Tou’s practice focuses on corporate finance, including advising issuers, underwriters and investors on complex capital markets transactions, securities, corporate and governance matters in Hong Kong. He joins White & Case from Allen & Overy, where he was of counsel for five years. He has also previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates, and at Reed Smith LLP, bringing a total of more than 10 years of experience.

"Ryan's addition demonstrates our ongoing commitment in Asia-Pacific to supporting our clients on their key Hong Kong-related equity capital markets matters,” said White & Case partner John Vetterli, head of the firm's global capital markets practice.

White & Case partner Eugene Man, regional section head, Asia-Pacific banking & capital markets said that Tou’s arrival represents an expansion of the firm’s existing capabilities advising international and regional clients on Hong Kong IPOs and public company issues.

"Ryan is a highly knowledgeable and experienced Hong Kong equity capital markets lawyer whose issuer and investment bank clients value his technically sophisticated and commercial approach to their key deals," said Man.

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle added: "White & Case has a long history advising clients in Asia-Pacific, with an on-the-ground presence in the region for more than 45 years since our Hong Kong office opened in 1978. Ryan's addition continues our enduring commitment to Asia-Pacific and maintains our recent momentum following the arrival of lateral partners in key practices in our offices in Australia, Indonesia and Japan, as well as Hong Kong."
