Rebecca Maslen-Stannage has been re-elected as senior partner and Global LLP Council chair of Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) for a second term following a partnership vote.

Her second term commences immediately and will last until 30 April 2029.

“I am deeply honoured to be re-elected as the firm's chair and senior partner. I am incredibly proud of our firm and what we have achieved together. Clients trust us to advise them on the most important mandates and complex challenges, which is testament to the commitment and talent of our people. It is a privilege to continue being part of the firm's leadership and working with my fellow partners and our broader team at this exciting juncture”, Maslen-Stannage said.

Last month, the firm announced that it would be merging with Kramer Levin to form Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer.

“We are truly grateful for Rebecca's leadership as chair of our firm's global council and its senior partner. Bec has done a fantastic job and her re-appointment enables us to continue the exciting journey of bringing our ambitious vision to life and building on what will be our fantastic global platform as Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer”, HSF CEO Justin D’Agostino said. “The firm's growth and ambitions are accelerating at an unprecedented pace and I look forward to continuing to work with Bec at this important time in our firm's history.”

Maslen-Stannage will continue practising as a corporate lawyer focusing on private and public M&A, equity capital markets, crisis management and corporate governance while leading the firm. Recent deals she has played a role in include SGH’s takeover of Boral, Adbri’s acquisition by CRH and Blackmores’ acquisition by Kirin.
