BarkerGilmore LLC has appointed Edward Nekritz – former chief legal officer and general counsel at Prologis, Inc., with over three decades of experience in international real estate, corporate governance, and legal strategy – as a strategic advisor and leadership development coach.

At BarkerGilmore, Nekritz now belongs to a team of advisory professionals who previously served as chief legal officers and chief compliance officers, according to a news release from the executive search and talent advisory firm.

“We are thrilled to welcome him as a trusted advisor and coach,” said Bob Barker, BarkerGilmore managing partner, in the news release.

“I’ve always believed that the best legal leaders are also business leaders,” Nekritz added in the news release.

Nekritz was Prologis’s first general counsel and a member of its executive committee for over two decades. He assisted Prologis with its global expansion, strategic capital initiatives, and organizational development, BarkerGilmore’s news release said.

His work with Prologis included over US$100 billion of public M&A transactions and the 2011 merger of Prologis and AMB Property Corporation, the firm’s news release added. Nekritz also helped with the IPOs of Prologis’s businesses in Japan and Mexico and the formation of fund vehicles across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia.

According to the news release, Prologis is a Standard and Poor’s 100 (S&P 100) company by market cap and the world’s largest real estate logistics organization, with US$207 billion in assets under management.
