Dentons makes triple partner hire in Dublin

Dentons has appointed three new partners into its fast-growing Dublin office, which now has ten partners and 26 lawyers in total. Continuing its strategy of taking top Irish talent from both leading international and domestic Irish firms, the Dublin team will welcome:

Colm Ó hUiginn - an energy and projects lawyer who advises on the development and financing of greenfield projects. He joins from Shearman & Sterling in London.

David McGuinness - a corporate lawyer focusing on private and public M&A, private equity, venture capital transactions, joint ventures and general corporate and commercial advisory. He joins from Allen & Overy in Dubai, having previously worked at William Fry in Dublin.

Michael McDonald - a corporate lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, equity capital markets and investment funds. He joins from Gilbert + Tobin in Australia, having also previously worked at William Fry.

“Colm, David and Michael join the really exciting cohort of first-class lawyers that Eavan Saunders has built since launching our Dublin business 18 months ago,” said the firm’s UK, Ireland and Middle East CEO Paul Jarvis. “They bring a wealth of experience to the firm, and even more clout and dynamism to a team that has quickly established Dentons as the busiest international firm in the Irish market. These hires, together with the recent promotion of Ciaran O'Boyle, continues our push to expand our pre-eminent corporate offering across the region.”

Ireland managing partner Eavan Saunders, added: “David and Michael are both technically excellent lawyers who join a corporate team that from a standing start has earned top ten placings in the M & A rankings, and add some fantastic industry knowledge in some of the most active and fastest growing sectors in our market. Similarly, Colm has advised government ministers and senior executives on large project developments and will help us to leverage Dentons' leading energy, infra and projects story here in Dublin. I'm delighted to welcome them to the firm as we continue to differentiate ourselves, delivering the world's largest law firm to corporate Ireland.”
