Corporate Legal Operations Consortium to host Asia-Pacific summit in Sydney

The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) has announced the return of the CLOC APAC Summit to the Asia-Pacific region, scheduled for August 20-21 in Sydney, Australia.

This event marks the first time since 2019 that CLOC has hosted a summit in the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to reinforce and develop the legal operations community after a period of virtual and smaller in-person gatherings.

The summit is recognized for providing educational and networking opportunities specific to the legal operations sector, particularly focusing on the international markets within the Asia-Pacific region. The legal operations community in this area has seen considerable growth, with the near doubling of CLOC’s membership in the region and the establishment of the Japan Regional Group in 2022.

Katrina Gowans, one of the CLOC regional co-chairs, said, “We’re looking forward to bringing the CLOC APAC Summit back to Sydney this August and reconnecting with our community in a meaningful way. This is a chance for us to come together, share our experiences, and collaboratively chart the course for the future of legal operations across the region.”

The summit will be hosted at the Hilton Sydney, featuring a program carefully designed by the community to ensure relevance and address the current challenges and opportunities within the legal operations profession.

The summit's theme, “Reconnecting the Regional Ecosystem,” highlights CLOC’s goal to strengthen the network among legal operations professionals. The program will cover various session formats focusing on key areas such as strategic planning, financial management, project management, and the impact of legal technology on the profession.

“This year, our focus is on the people at the heart of the Asia-Pacific legal ops community,” said  CLOC President Jenn McCarron. “We’re coming together to explore how technology can enhance our work while prioritizing the human connections that are the true driving force behind everything we do.  Let’s make the APAC Summit our playground for swapping stories, tackling challenges, and, yes, geeking out over the latest in legal tech.”

CLOC encourages interested parties to check the event website regularly for the latest updates on the summit, including new announcements on registration, the full program, and sponsorship opportunities.
