MPD Law Firm LLP appears in $20-million commercial case

Bennett Jones; Blake, Cassels & Graydon; BLG; Chaitons; Dickinson Wright; Fogler, Rubinoff; Miller Thomson; Paliare Roland; and Torkin Manes made appearances in multiple commercial list matters before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice last week.

Last week’s most notable commercial suit was the $20-million case Crea v Guerrero et al. MPD Law Firm LLP founding partner Jens Drees advised plaintiff C. Crea. He maintains a broad commercial litigation practice. G. Guerrero and three other defendants appeared to be unrepresented.

The next most notable commercial suit was the $16.1-million case 7539088 Canada Inc. et al v Slattery et al. Bennett Jones LLP partner Nathan Shaheen acted for 7539088 Canada Inc. and one other plaintiff.

Fogler, Rubinoff LLP partner Milton Davis advised M. Slattery and two other defendants. Fogler, Rubinoff associate Natalia Sidlar acted for defendant Skylark Holdings Ltd.

Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP partner Clarke Tedesco advised defendant D. Nguyen. He focuses on civil litigation and enforcement proceedings before securities regulators. P. Miller and three other defendants appeared to be unrepresented.
