Steven Hansen is a third-year law student at the University of Alberta. Each year, the school holds a cabaret music production organized and performed by students in the Faculty of Law. This year, Hansen arranged music for 19 musicians in the band. “Finding a way to work trombones into
You Give Love a Bad Name or violins into
Love Shack is not always easy, but I enjoy the creative challenge,” he says.
Hansen began playing piano in Grade 2, eventually graduating with a BA in music from the University of Alberta in 2005. Throughout his undergrad years, he played the piano in The Vinyl Experiment, a band that played the Edmonton area and managed to get some radio airplay on CBC’s national morning show.
Hansen is looking forward to articling in his hometown of Camrose, Alta., this summer. He hopes to remain there and practise law as a generalist.
Now in its 19th year, the “Law Show” raises money for Zebra Child Protection Centre, which works to improve the lives of children who have suffered abuse in Edmonton.
