Bell and Zoom launch AI-based collaboration platform for Canadian businesses

New platform tackles Canada's hybrid work challenges with built-in AI and trusted telecom support

Bell and Zoom launch AI-based collaboration platform for Canadian businesses

Bell Canada has partnered with Zoom to introduce "Workplace from Bell and Zoom," a new collaboration platform designed for Canadian enterprises. The platform is available exclusively through Bell and features built-in artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of all service tiers.

According to Bell, the platform aims to support businesses adapting to hybrid and remote work environments. It also addresses varying levels of technical expertise, offering scalable options that are easy to implement and operate. This makes it suitable for both small businesses looking for an out-of-the-box solution and larger enterprises needing flexible integration across teams and departments.

Key features include:

  • Unified communication tools (video, messaging, calling, file sharing)

  • Built-in AI support for task automation and productivity

  • Enterprise-grade security

  • Compatibility with hybrid work and multiple devices

The AI Companion, a core element of the platform, is designed to assist users in real-time. It can summarize meetings, draft messages, suggest action items, and help manage workloads—all within the Zoom environment. By embedding these tools directly into the platform, rather than offering them as optional add-ons, the solution aims to streamline operations and improve efficiency from the outset.

“Workplace from Bell and Zoom is an important milestone within our digital-first mission," said Bell group president John Watson. "We've worked together to deliver a comprehensive suite of tools to empower Canadian customers with the seamless and secure communication and collaboration experiences they need to thrive in today's dynamic environment.”

“This partnership with Bell represents a truly unique opportunity to bring the power of the Zoom platform to the Canadian market," said Zoom chief sales and growth officer Graeme Geddes. "We're excited to work alongside Bell to deliver a solution that's not only innovative but also specifically tailored to the needs of Canadian businesses. This collaboration sets a new standard for enterprise collaboration in Canada.”

The launch also reflects broader market trends. A recent study cited in the announcement found that 64 percent of Canadian organizations face challenges with the scalability of their communication tools. Additionally, 57 percent are looking for platforms that fully integrate calling, meetings, and messaging. The same research highlights that 76 percent of IT decision-makers in Canada prefer to purchase communication solutions from trusted telecom providers.

Bell’s involvement responds directly to these preferences. As Canada’s largest communications company, Bell brings both the infrastructure and customer reach needed to scale the platform nationwide.

"Workplace from Bell and Zoom" is expected to be available across Canada later this year. Rollout details will be announced in the coming months.
