LeadsOnline LLC acquired Forensic Technology Inc. from Ultra Electronics, uniting two major tech firms in law enforcement solutions, particularly for gun-related crimes. Forensic Technology, known for its pioneering IBIS (Integrated Ballistic Identification System) used in over 80 countries, merged with LeadsOnline to enhance global law enforcement capabilities in solving crimes. The companies will combine their resources, with more than 300 employees, to develop next-generation investigative solutions. The merged entity will be based in Plano, Texas, with Forensic Technology functioning as a LeadsOnline company. The deal, terms of which were undisclosed, aims to expand the network effect of their solutions and develop new technologies for safer societies.

LeadsOnline, backed by TA Associates, is enhancing its suite of investigative tools through this acquisition, extending its international reach. Forensic Technology’s offices globally will continue as key operational and support centers. Legal advisors for the transaction were Goodwin Procter and Kirkland & Ellis, with Deloitte and KPMG as financial advisors, and Harris Williams as the exclusive M&A advisor.
