On February 23, 2023, Behaviour™ Interactive, Canada's largest video game studio, announced its acquisition of SockMonkey Studios, a UK-based external developer. The transaction marked Behaviour's first European investment, and the studio was rebranded as Behaviour UK – North. SockMonkey will serve as a key partner in Behaviour’s Services division, which collaborates with major clients like Microsoft, Sony, EA, Warner, Netflix, and Take-Two.

Rémi Racine, CEO of Behaviour, expressed enthusiasm over integrating SockMonkey's award-winning team, citing shared values of innovation and collaboration. This acquisition aligns with Behaviour's growth strategy, reminiscent of their previous acquisition of Seattle's Midwinter Entertainment.

Established in 1992, Behaviour has gained acclaim for its original titles, notably the horror-action multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight™. The company also announced the upcoming release of a new IP, Meet Your Maker™.

SockMonkey, founded in 2013 in Middlesbrough and recognized as one of the best workplaces in the gaming industry, celebrated its tenth anniversary by joining Behaviour. Bob Makin, co-founder and CEO of SockMonkey, highlighted the acquisition as a milestone in Behaviour's European expansion. The 45-member SockMonkey team, known for co- and full-development projects, will now focus on serving Behaviour’s prestigious client base.
