Thrust Capital Partners acquires Dishon Limited to propel aerospace manufacturer's expansion

On August 16, 2023, Thrust Capital Partners (TCP), a Canadian private equity firm specializing in the aerospace industry, announced its first platform acquisition in the Thrust Capital Partners Fund I L.P. by partnering with Dishon Limited, an Ontario-based company known for manufacturing complex machined components. Dishon, established in 1980, has gained recognition for its expertise in machining and grinding hard metals like inconel and titanium, catering primarily to the aviation, space, and satellite sectors.

The founders of Dishon, the Dishy family, will maintain significant ownership and continue in their current roles. Ilan Dishy expressed gratitude towards TCP for their support in this significant transaction, noting TCP's sectorial expertise as perfectly aligned with Dishon's. He highlighted that the strategic investment would enable Dishon to expand into new geographies and continue serving customers while maintaining commitments to employees and suppliers.

Benoit Brossoit, a Partner at TCP, expressed excitement about participating in Dishon's growth. He emphasized TCP's commitment to empowering experienced and ambitious owner-entrepreneurs in Canada, like the Dishy family. Brossoit also mentioned that TCP's aerospace experience and the creation of synergies within the Canadian aerospace cluster would contribute to the success of this partnership.
