The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, the Trillium Health Partners' Broader Redevelopment Project, has entered its development phase. The hospital is expected to be approximately 2.8 million square feet, which includes a new and expanded Emergency Department (ED) that will serve as the largest ED in Ontario.

Trillium Health Partners is the biggest community-based hospital network in Canada. This historic, multi-billion dollar project is a critical component of Ontario’s plan to build a stronger, more resilient healthcare system by creating a new kind of healthcare that meets the growing demand of the diverse communities in Mississauga and Etobicoke.

The project is the first progressive Design-Build-Finance-Maintain (DBFM) to be procured through Infrastructure Ontario.

The construction of the new Mississauga Hospital is expected to begin in 2025.
