On March 7, 2023, Dentsu Group Inc., based in Tokyo, announced its definitive agreement to acquire Tag Worldwide Holdings Ltd, a global digital marketing production company, from Advent International. This move aligns with Dentsu's goal to merge marketing, technology, and consulting, enhancing their integrated client solutions. The acquisition will elevate dentsu's Customer Transformation and Technology (CT&T) net revenues to 34% from 32% for FY2022, with an ambition to reach 50% in the future.
Tag, established in 1972, was procured by Advent International in 2017. Since then, it has seen over €100 million in investments and completed six acquisitions. Tag is renowned for its innovative global delivery model, offering services in Creative Production, Technology, and Channel Activation. The company is associated with 38 of the world's top 100 brands and has an average client relationship exceeding seven years.
Hiroshi Igarashi, Dentsu Group's CEO, emphasized the harmonizing values between the two firms, praising Tag's technological solutions. David Kassler, Global CEO of Tag, anticipates fruitful integration with Dentsu's vast marketing and consulting expertise.
Post-acquisition, Tag will maintain its brand, continue its leadership under David Kassler, and keep its headquarters in London. The deal, advised financially by Lazard for Dentsu, is set to finalize later in 2023, pending necessary approvals. The acquisition will constitute about 3% of dentsu's revenues, promising numerous financial gains.
