On April 17, 2023, The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and Noventa Energy Partners have finalized an investment in sustainable retrofit projects. CIB is committing CAD 100 million for heating and cooling system upgrades via Noventa's Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) delivery model. Private funding will also come from Ancala Partners through Noventa. Noventa's EaaS approach aids building operators in managing costs, and its solutions cut carbon emissions from heating by over 70%. The retrofit initiatives will utilize Noventa's Wastewater Energy Transfer™? Systems with HUBER ThermWin®? technology, leveraging wastewater's thermal energy for low-carbon building heating and cooling. This investment aligns with CIB's Building Retrofits Initiative, addressing the 18% of Canada's greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. Ancala, a significant investor in renewable energy, supports this venture alongside other investments, such as HS Orka in Iceland. The initiative aims for energy-efficient building retrofits, emission reductions, and job creation, essential for Canada's climate targets.
