Novacap Partners with Static Media to Accelerate Growth of Digital Media Portfolio
On April 4, 2023, Novacap, a top North American private equity firm, has announced a partnership with Static Media, an Indianapolis company that manages a diverse digital media brand portfolio in various niches like food and entertainment. Static Media, established in 2012 by Reggie Renner and Mike Langin, began as ZergNet, a content recommendation engine. However, by 2019, it pivoted to emphasize digital media operations, acquiring and creating platforms such as Looper, Mashed, Tasting Table, and Glam. Currently, Static Media boasts over 100 million monthly website sessions, 20 million YouTube subscribers, and millions of followers on other platforms. This collaboration with Novacap aims to bolster Static Media's growth in content leadership across existing and emerging verticals, while still employing its unique tech stack for content creation and market strategies. Pascal Tremblay, Novacap's CEO, and Reggie Renner, CEO of Static Media, both expressed enthusiasm about the partnership's potential for scaling and expansion, highlighting Static Media's accomplishments and innovation in the digital media realm. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
