On March 28, 2023, SNDL Inc. has announced an agreement to purchase four cannabis retail stores from Lightbox Enterprises Ltd. These stores operate under the Dutch Love Cannabis brand. For $7.8 million, SNDL will acquire rights to four Dutch Love stores and some related intellectual property. Of these stores, three are located in British Columbia and one in Ontario. Together, they generated $11.5 million revenue in 2022, with a 36.5% gross margin. The acquisition aims to strengthen SNDL's market share in the cannabis retail sector. This transaction is a result of Lightbox's sale and investment solicitation process approved by the Supreme Court of British Columbia in relation to Lightbox's financial proceedings. Payment details include $1.5 million cash, cancellation of a $3.0 million debt owed by Lightbox to SNDL, and $3.3 million in SNDL common shares to Lightbox. The deal is expected to conclude by May 2023. This will also coincide with the restructuring of Nova Cannabis Inc.
