On March 15, 2023, Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure (CC&L Infrastructure) has announced its acquisition of a 49.9% minority stake in Bermuda Skyport Corporation Limited (Skyport) from Aecon Group Inc., the entity in charge of L.F. Wade International Airport (Bermuda International Airport). Aecon, a leading Canadian infrastructure and construction company, will maintain its role as the majority owner and operator of the airport. The purchase is valued at US $128.5 million ($173,560,000 CAD). The Bermuda International Airport, the only aviation gateway to Bermuda, underwent redevelopment in 2020. Completed under a 30-year concession agreement, Skyport, an Aecon subsidiary, retains 24 years and oversees airport operations, maintenance, and commercial functions. Matt O'Brien, President of CC&L Infrastructure, emphasized the acquisition's alignment with their investment strategy, particularly as passenger traffic is anticipated to rebound post-COVID-19.
