Plains All American, via its subsidiary Plains Midstream Canada, has reached an agreement to sell its 21% interest in the Keyera Fort Saskatchewan (KFS) facility to Keyera Corporation for roughly $365 million CAD ($270 million USD). Awaiting approval from the Canadian Competition Bureau, the deal was set to conclude in Q1 2023. Willie Chiang, CEO of Plains All American, stated that this step aimed to monetize their stake in the KFS joint venture and augment connectivity for their Plains Fort Saskatchewan facility. The sale's revenue will be directed towards debt reduction, fortifying their financial footing, and possibly funding upgrades at the Plains Fort Saskatchewan site. As stipulated in the deal, Plains will persist in catering to its current clientele, uphold its agreements, and rent fractionation and storage areas at the Keyera establishment for a designated transition phase. The two firms are committed to bolstering the sustained connectivity of propane, butane, and related commodities. On February 13, 2023, Plains All American verified the transaction's fruitful culmination at $367 million CAD ($271 million USD), benefiting their Plains Fort Saskatchewan infrastructure.
