On March 21, 2025, Canadian IT and business consulting firm CGI Inc. announced the acquisition of Novatec Consulting GmbH, a German-based IT consultancy. This cross-border transaction marks a strategic move for CGI as it seeks to expand its presence in continental Europe, particularly within key commercial industry sectors.

Legal counsel for CGI was provided by German law firm Hengeler Mueller. The advisory team was led by partners Elisabeth Kreuzer (Munich) and Christian Schwandtner (Düsseldorf), supported by senior associate Benedikt Hoegen and associate Julian Pröbstl, both based in Munich.
