On December 17, 2024, LXT, a Toronto-based AI training data provider, signed a definitive agreement to acquire clickworker, a leading global crowdsourced data platform with over six million freelancers. The acquisition combines LXT’s language data expertise and operational capabilities with clickworker’s sophisticated automated technology platform, strengthening their global presence across six continents and more than 150 countries.
The deal positions the combined entity as a leader in AI data solutions, addressing the growing demand for high-quality training data in AI development. Clickworker, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Essen, Germany, has completed over 600 million jobs and is known for its scalability and cost-efficiency. Following the acquisition, clickworker’s Managing Director, Christian Rozsenich, will join LXT as Chief Technology Officer, overseeing technology integration and the expansion of AI data solutions.
LXT serves Fortune 100 companies and global technology leaders across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. The acquisition is expected to enhance the company’s service offerings with advanced self-service features, API integrations, and domain-specific expertise.
Deloitte Corporate Finance and Gowling WLG advised LXT, while clickworker was represented by PwC Legal, led by Moritz Gröning, and BLG (Canada), represented by Brandon Evenson and Andrian Lozinski.
