Groupe ELNA, a leading Canadian medical clinic consolidator based in Montréal, Québec, obtained protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) on December 12, 2024. Operating over 100 clinics and points of care across five provinces, ELNA is Canada's largest network of integrated medical clinics, diagnostic laboratory services, and remote patient monitoring services, employing approximately 2,000 staff and serving around three million Canadians. The company generates approximately $200 million in annual gross revenue.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted ELNA, reducing patient visits and causing substantial revenue losses, though its laboratory division remained profitable. ELNA used these revenues and additional financing to fund acquisitions, including Medicentres and Brunswick Health Group. However, these turnaround acquisitions contributed to a monthly cash burn rate of approximately $1.5 million.

The CCAA proceedings aim to continue a pre-filing Sale and Investment Solicitation Process (SISP), funded by a debtor-in-possession (DIP) facility provided by National Bank of Canada. Raymond Chabot has been appointed as the monitor. Legal advisors include Osler for ELNA, McCarthy Tétrault for the monitor, BLG for National Bank of Canada, and Spiegel Sohmer for Laurent Amram.
