Music Center acquires Canada-based Légère Reeds Ltd.

On June 4, 2024, Music Center S.r.l., backed by Consilium SGR, acquired Légère Reeds Ltd., a Toronto- and Barrie-based manufacturer of synthetic reeds for wind instruments. Légère, founded by Mark Kortschot and Guy Légère, has grown at an annual rate of 20% over the past decade and pioneered recyclable synthetic reeds. The deal strengthens Music Center’s global position in wind instrument accessories, following acquisitions of Valentino (USA, 2023) and Rovner Products (USA, 2024).

Advisors for Music Center included Stikeman Elliott and Grant Thornton (Canada) and Alpeggiani Avvocati Associati and Pirola Pennuto Zei (Italy). Financing was provided by Illimity Bank, Muzinich & Co SGR, and Sparkasse, advised by Dentons. Légère’s shareholders were advised by ATBL, Torkin Manes, and MNP Corporate Finance.
