DSV announces its biggest transaction to date after signing an agreement to acquire Schenker, the logistics arm of German state rail operator Deutsche Bahn, for approximately $21.5 billion (€14.3 billion).
This acquisition is set to create a global logistics powerhouse, with the combined entity expected to achieve pro forma revenue of approximately €39.3 billion, based on 2023 figures, and a workforce of around 147,000 employees operating in more than 90 countries.
The deal is expected to close in 2025, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
