On August 9, 2022, OMERS Private Equity, affiliated with OMERS, Ontario's municipal employees' pension plan, acquired a minority stake in NovaSource Power Services. A recognized global leader in solar operations and maintenance (O&M), NovaSource manages over 20GW of solar assets worldwide, marking its presence in regions like North and South America, EMEA, Asia, and Australia. Notably, it stands as the largest independent Solar O&M provider both in the U.S. and globally. This transaction, conducted in collaboration with NovaSource's executive team and Clairvest Group Inc., sees Clairvest continuing as NovaSource's majority equity holder. The investment from OMERS will be channelled towards supporting NovaSource's ongoing expansion. In its growth endeavors, NovaSource recently acquired Heliolytics. Angus Cole from Clairvest expressed enthusiasm about partnering with OMERS Private Equity, citing the synergy of expertise and industry connections. Troy Lauterbach, NovaSource's CEO, welcomed OMERS and highlighted the combined vision of establishing a leading position in solar and storage services. Scott Hauser of OMERS Private Equity emphasized their commitment to accelerating NovaSource's growth and promoting the global energy transition. OMERS Private Equity has consistently collaborated with pioneering firms, and this move aligns with its emphasis on sustainable investments in areas like solar and wind energy.
