On September 30, 2024, Montreal-based Power Corporation of Canada marked up the valuation of its controlling stake in Toronto FinTech company Wealthsimple once again in a $2.2 billion deal that represents Power’s fourth consecutive quarterly markup in the value of its Wealthsimple holdings.

Earlier in the year, Power Corporation reported its stake in Wealthsimple as follows:

• March 31, 2024: Valued at $1.3 billion.

• June 30, 2024: Increased to $1.5 billion.
