On October 21, 2024, Neuberger Berman Private Markets, EQT, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), alongside global institutional investors, announced the acquisition of a significant stake in Nord Anglia Education, valuing the company at USD 14.5 billion (approximately CAD 19.7 billion). Nord Anglia, a global leader in international education, operated over 80 schools across 33 countries, educating more than 85,000 students.

EQT and CPP Investments reinvested in Nord Anglia, while Neuberger Berman joined as a new strategic partner. The acquisition was expected to support Nord Anglia’s continued global expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions. EQT's investment was made via its BPEA Private Equity Fund VIII.

Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Lazard served as financial advisors to Nord Anglia, with Deutsche Bank and HSBC providing additional financial advisory support. Latham & Watkins advised EQT, CPP Investments, and Nord Anglia on the transaction, with Debevoise & Plimpton and Ropes & Gray advising EQT.

This transaction reflected the Consortium’s commitment to advancing Nord Anglia’s educational excellence and expanding its global footprint.
