On June 1, 2023, Puratos Canada completed its acquisition of Foley’s Chocolates, a prominent provider of real and compound chocolate to industrial manufacturers in North America. This strategic acquisition positioned Puratos as one of the largest chocolate producers in Canada, also making it the only domestic manufacturer of ingredients for bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors. The acquisition will allow Puratos to offer innovative solutions, such as plant-based, protein-enhanced, and sugar-reduced products, while emphasizing sustainability initiatives.

Puratos Canada was represented by Farris LLP, with a team led by Peter Roth, Ryan McCracken, Mark Chu, and Alex Mitchell. Stikeman Elliott acted as legal advisor to Foley’s Candies Limited Partnership.
