On June 16, 2022, Staples Canada ULC, a leading office products retailer, expanded its market presence by acquiring Denis Office Supplies and Furniture as well as Supreme Basics. Denis, with its extensive reach in Quebec, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada, and Supreme Basics, catering to the Prairies and Ontario with specialty supplies and educational products, have joined the Staples Canada fold. The transaction was facilitated by the legal expertise of Stikeman Elliott, serving as counsel for Staples Canada. The legal team, led by Warren Katz and including professionals like Warren Silversmith, Barbara Sheng, and Jeff Li, offered comprehensive legal guidance throughout the deal. Celebrating the merger, Staples Canada CEO David Boone highlighted the synergy between the three brands, which aims to enhance business support across Canada.
