On July 25, 2022, Star America Infrastructure Partners successfully closed its investment in Canadian Fiber Optics Corporation (CFOC), a Calgary-based company specializing in developing and operating fiber networks across Western Canada. This investment will provide essential equity to CFOC, enabling the expansion of fast and reliable internet services to underserved rural communities.

Jodi Bloomer, President of CFOC, emphasized the company’s commitment to pushing industry boundaries, while CEO Arjen Kaput highlighted the investment as a milestone that will enhance CFOC's ability to enter new markets and strengthen its team. Star America expressed enthusiasm about partnering with CFOC to support its growth in delivering fiber infrastructure to rural areas.

The transaction was supported by Stikeman Elliot LLP, who served as legal counsel to Star America, and Bennett Jones LLP, who advised CFOC. Solomon Partners acted as the financial advisor to Star America, with additional advisory support from Deloitte Canada LLP, Cartesian, and American Global.
