On August 29, 2024, Onex Corporation, through its Onex Partners Opportunities Fund, agreed to acquire Farsound, a global leader in supply chain solutions for the aerospace engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) market. The deal, executed in partnership with Farsound’s management team, led by CEO Chris Knott, underscores Onex's commitment to the aerospace sector, although financial terms were not disclosed.

Farsound, headquartered in Brentwood, England, specializes in the procurement, supply, and inventory management of consumable hardware components essential for aerospace engine overhauls. The company operates in the UK, U.S., Canada, and Spain, serving as a strategic partner to leading engine MRO providers, enhancing operational efficiency and engine turnaround times.

Onex, with its robust experience in aviation and aerospace investments, aims to leverage its networks to support Farsound’s growth. The transaction is expected to close later this year, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Barclays and Solomon Partners acted as financial advisors to Onex, with Latham & Watkins LLP serving as legal counsel. AGIC, the previous owner, was advised exclusively by William Blair, with K&L Gates providing legal counsel.
