On September 14, 2023, CPP Investments extended its private equity partnership with Northleaf Capital Partners by committing an additional C$200 million to the Canadian private equity market. This allocation brings Northleaf’s total managed investments for CPP Investments to C$2.4 billion since the partnership's inception in 2006. The mandate focuses on small and mid-market Canadian buyout and growth funds, secondary investments, and direct co-investments. Mike Flood, Managing Director at Northleaf, emphasized the strong collaboration and trust between the two entities. Northleaf, a prominent player in Canada's private equity landscape, has committed over C$3.4 billion in Canadian investments and participated in over 80 Canadian funds. As of June 30, 2023, CPP Investments' net assets in Canada totaled C$82 billion, representing 14% of its total assets.
