On May 25, 2022, ClearPier, a leading Canadian ad-tech firm, acquired Israeli ad-tech company PubPlus for CAD77 million ($60 million) through a cash and stock deal. PubPlus, led by CEO and Co-Founder Gil Bar-Tur, who is also a significant shareholder, will join ClearPier's senior management team and oversee its Israeli operations. Despite the acquisition, PubPlus will operate independently within the ClearPier Group and plans to hire more staff in Israel. Since its inception in 2014, PubPlus has been self-funded, achieving sustained profitability and growth annually. The company specializes in real-time content effectiveness analysis and optimization, focusing on profitability and financial performance to enhance audience building with positive returns on investment. ClearPier, co-founded by Sunil Abraham and Jignesh Shah, is a global marketing technology company that provides solutions for content publishers to acquire, retain, and monetize audiences on various screen formats. This acquisition, the largest for ClearPier in Israel, aims to broaden their suite of solutions and market reach. Abraham, CEO of ClearPier, regards Israel as a pioneering ad-tech hub and expects the acquisition to enhance their customer offerings and foster expansion into new markets. He also mentioned that ClearPier is exploring further acquisitions in Israel. Bar-Tur echoed the sentiment, noting the ad-tech industry's growth and consolidation trend, and expressed confidence that the merger would accelerate growth and market penetration for both companies.
