Champlain Financial Corporation leads acquisition of Quebec’s largest custom cabinet manufacturer, Armoires Cuisines Action

In July 2022, an investor group led by Champlain Financial Corporation, including Fondaction, acquired Armoires Cuisines Action (ACA), a leading designer, manufacturer, and installer of custom kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, laundry rooms, and residential storage in Quebec. The transaction value remains undisclosed.

Located in St-Sabine, Quebec, ACA stands as the province’s largest custom cabinet manufacturer with a specialized production line and computer system tailored for custom-made products from design to after-sales service.

The Naud van Gennip family, founders and majority shareholders for 33 years, and François Chaurette, Chairman of the Board, retained their shares. Key executives Guy Grégoire (President), Carole Langlois (Vice-President Finance and Administration), and Maude Naud van Gennip (Director of Marketing and Human Resources) also joined the shareholder base. They will continue in their leadership roles, leveraging Champlain’s strategic and financial support to drive the company’s growth.

Champlain’s legal advisors for the transaction were Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. Grégoire expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Champlain’s expertise as crucial for ACA’s ambitious growth plans. François Chaurette echoed this sentiment, noting Champlain’s entrepreneurial approach and value creation experience as key factors in their selection.

Scott Jackson, Partner at Champlain Financial Corporation, praised ACA’s management team and its impressive growth from humble beginnings to a leader in Quebec’s renovation industry, expressing pride in supporting ACA’s next growth phase.
