KingSett Mortgage Corporation successfully placed 759 Winston Churchill GP Inc. and associated owners of lands in Mississauga, Ontario, into receivership on May 30, 2024. The properties, designated for three real-estate development projects, were funded by KingSett through loan facilities. By January 2024, KingSett claimed a debt exceeding $360 million.

The receivership application was initially scheduled for February, during which the companies filed a competing application under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). Both parties entered a forbearance agreement that expired, leading to a consensual receivership order.

KSV was appointed as the receiver. The legal advisors involved included Bennett Jones for KingSett, McCarthy Tétrault for the companies, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt for the receiver, WeirFoulds for Nucor Rebar Fabrication, Norton Rose Fulbright for Kenaidan Contracting, Sutherland Law for Soilcan, Drudi Alexiou Kuchar for JC Infrastructure and Montana Electric, Kagan Shastri DeMelo Winer Park for Noram Glass, and Harrison Pensa for TD Bank.
