Blue Ant Media merges with marblemedia to form unified studio and rights business

On August 10, 2023, Blue Ant Media merged its production and distribution operations with marblemedia, creating a unified studio and rights business. Mark Bishop and Matthew Hornburg were appointed co-Presidents, reporting to Blue Ant Media CEO Michael MacMillan. The merger included Blue Ant Media acquiring marblemedia and Distribution360, effective immediately, with operations centralized in Blue Ant Media's Toronto office.

The combined entity includes production companies marblemedia, Blue Ant Studios, Saloon Media, and Look Mom! Productions, alongside distributors Distribution360 and Blue Ant International. This merger expanded their intellectual property across genres like scripted comedy and drama, unscripted entertainment, factual and premium documentaries, live-action kids/family, and animation.

The new entity aims to produce larger creative projects, leveraging renowned IP, innovative originals, and top-tier talent, while expanding partnerships with streamers and broadcasters globally. Blue Ant Media, already known for hits like "Canada’s Drag Race" and "Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies," and marblemedia, with successful series like "Blown Away" and "Drink Masters," will benefit from this consolidation.

Sam Sniderman will serve as Blue Ant Media’s Chief Commercial Officer, while Laura Michalchyshyn continues as Chief Creative Officer. Beach House Pictures will remain independent.
