On May 22, 2024, the Gendreau family, owners of Garaga Inc., acquired Novatech Group Inc., a prominent Canadian manufacturer of entry doors, doorglass, patio doors, and insulated glass. The transaction, subject to final conditions, is set to close on May 27, 2024. Novatech, founded by Raymond Ouellette in 1982, boasts 16 plants and distribution centers in North America and an innovation center since 2009.

Combining their expertise, Garaga and Novatech generate over $1 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 3,000 people. Maxime Gendreau, Co-President of Garaga, emphasized the continuation of autonomous operations for both companies. The acquisition ensures Novatech's Québec ownership continuity and facilitates a smooth transition. Harold Savard will remain President and a shareholder of Novatech, with management unchanged.

KPMG LLP served as the financial advisor, Norton Rose Fulbright acted as the legal advisor for the Gendreau family, and Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP advised Novatech, Ouellette, and Savard.
