On May 17, 2022, CC Power plc, together with its related entities, successfully acquired Stoneway Capital Corporation, which includes four power generation facilities in Argentina, boasting a combined capacity of 737 MW. This transaction was executed through the Chapter 11 and Canada Business Corporations Act plans, which became effective on May 17, 2022.

SCC Power compensated Stoneway's creditors and interest holders with various secured notes totaling $528 million, comprising $17.86 million of 6.000% First Lien Notes due in 2028, $310 million of 8.000% Second Lien Notes due in 2028, and $200 million of 4.000% Third Lien Notes due in 2032. The initial interest payment for these notes was scheduled for September 15, 2022.

Legal representation for SCC Power was provided by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, Maples and Calder, McCarthy Tétrault LLP, Stewart McKelvey, and Tavarone, Rovelli, Salim & Miani. Stoneway's legal counsel included Shearman & Sterling LLP, Bennett Jones LLP, Bomchil, Carey Olsen, and Lazard Frères & Co. LLC. Additional legal support came from numerous firms for the ad hoc group of note holders and mezzanine lenders.

The transaction aims to stabilize operations and improve cash flows to enhance stakeholder value, according to Hernan Walker, representative of MSU.
