AlphaBow Energy Ltd., based in Calgary, Alberta, continued its Notice of Intention (NOI) to make a proposal proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) on April 26, 2024. Originally, the company filed an NOI in March 2024 following regulatory orders from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). This move to CCAA proceedings was strategic to give AlphaBow the time required to manage a court-approved Sales and Investment Solicitation Process (SISP) and to facilitate the completion of certain asset sales endorsed by the court. The court appointed KSV as the monitor for these proceedings. Legal counsel involved included Bennett Jones representing AlphaBow, Cassels acting for the monitor, and MLT Aikins advising the AER.
